About The Veteran's Day Project

The Veteran’s Day Project was first produced in November of 2018 at Tacoma Little Theatre to commemorate both the 100-year anniversary of Armistice and the centennial season of Tacoma Little Theatre as the oldest community theatre west of the Mississippi.

The Veteran’s Day Project is the culmination of ten years of work involving almost thirty actors, a half-dozen writers, and consultations with a number of veterans. This epistolary play tells the stories of American combatants over the last hundred years, via letters written home. In these carefully-crafted letters, men and women share their victories, their woes, their concerns, and their fears with their loved ones. These letters are based on historical people and events, but the characters on stage are fictional amalgams, rather than strictly factual portrayals.
